My Studio Space
My photoshoot sessions generally take place in my professionally set up photography studio which is located inside Applegarth Court on Applegarth Lane.
Applegarth Court is an extra care Independent living scheme with on site care and communal areas. I have used this location as my studio since April 2018 and have had the privilege of capturing so many memories for many families in that time. The residents enjoy seeing clients coming through to the studio room!
What to Expect at a session
I am well equipped for all sessions: I have a wide range of gowns and bodysuits that can be use for Maternity, Mummy & Me or Empowerment sessions. I have a lovely spectrum of fabric backdrops for the newborn sessions. Some really lovely little gowns for the little ladies. Lots of cake smash outfits for both boys and girls. And oh so many props!
I like to make all my clients feel welcome so there is a sofa to sit on or I have a very comfortable chair which is ideal for sitting in when feeding your little one. Tea, coffee and water is available too.
Frequently Asked Questions about Sessions
When should I book my newborn session?
Ideally it's best for you to contact me when you've had your 20 week scan to make sure I have availability for your due month. If your baby has already arrived or you are due very soon, please do still drop me a message as I may still be able to squeeze you in.
Are you safety trained?
I am indeed! Your little one's safety is my upmost priority at all times. I have attended training with other very well established newborn photographers across the UK and also had one to one training in my own studio setting.
Can I bring babies siblings to their newborn session?
Absolutely you can! I always suggest that siblings come for the start of the session and we will do images with their new baby brother or sister at the start of the session, then ask that they be taken from the studio so that we can do the newborn part. As the newborn session is led by the baby it can sometimes take a while for them to settle or if they need a feed, so it's always best we do this without other siblings there as they will get fed up.
What is included in the session fee?
Included with the session fee is the consultation prior to the session taking place, your time in the studio, use of backdrops and props and of course my expertise.
How long will I have to wait for my images?
Generally it is around a week from the session taking place to your gallery being ready to view. Then your chosen images will be ready for you around 2 weeks after you've made your choices. This of course may vary at busier times, but I will always advise you on this at the time.
When should I book in any other session?
Ideally you need to contact me a month before you would like your session to take place. I tend to get booked up a couple of months in advance so the sooner you contact me to arrange your session, the better.
What if my baby doesn't play ball on the day?
Please don't worry! It often takes little ones a while to come around to their unusual surroundings, so I always take time to sit on the floor and chat and play with them when you first arrive to give them time to settle. I allow time for this in the session time.
Do I have to pay a deposit or sign any contracts?
When booking you in I send a booking form to complete with your details, it has my contract within in. I also take a £20 deposit to secure your booking with the balance due 7 days prior to the session taking place.
Where does the session take place?
All session take place in my studio which is located inside Applegarth Court on Applegarth Lane. It is an independent living facility and the residents love seeing people coming in for their sessions!
